C1: Short-term joint staff training for the SWOT project!

Do you know what ‘Work Based Learning – WBL’ is? It is an educational strategy which provides students with real-life work experiences where they can apply academic and technical skills.

Emphasys Centre had the pleasure of hosting the C1: Short-term joint staff training for the Erasmus+ VET project titled ‘SWOT: Skills for Work Opportunities in Eno-gastronomy and Tourism’ between the 15th – 19th of July 2019 at Emphasys Centre, in Nicosia.

During the week, the consortium conducted Workshop/Study visits to enterprises and VET providers in the area of eno-gastronomy and agriculture, specifically: a botanical park (CyHerbia Botanical Park & Labyrinth) and a winery (Ktima Gerolemo Athinodorou) showing good practices in Cyprus. As the project is reaching a successful end the platform targeted for VET students and enterprises is ready to be exploited and used. We are pleased to encourage all interested people and organisations to explore the functionalities, especially the section where organisations can create their profile and find suitable VET students for an apprenticeship training, as well as the section for VET trainers/students for searching appropriate WBL programmes. The platform also includes useful Guidelines for VET Teachers, Students, Directors, and Administrative staff, Companies, Policymakers to support the link between school-education and the labour market and for preparing the future workforce to access the job market

We would like to thank the coordinator of the project Casa Corpului Didactic Mureș (RO), as well as all the partners: Firenze Pixel (IT), Esmovia – Training and Mobility (ES), Zinev Art Technologies Ltd (BL), CIA Area Metropolitana Firenze e Prato (IT), APPIS – Associação Paredes pela Inclusão Social (PT) for their constructive cooperation.

A special thank you to Ktima Gerolemo Athinodorou and CyHerbia Botanical Park & Labyrinth for their generous hospitality and their time to tour the consortium through their premices.
