Did you know there are 47 million people worldwide that suffer from Dementia? According to the World Health Organisation, this number will increase to 75 million by 2030.
Emphasys Centre participated in the final meeting of the Erasmus+ KA2 project titled “Forget-me-not” which was organized between the 29th and 30th of August 2019, in Gdansk, Poland. During the meeting, the impact and benefits of the use of the platform that has been developed to support formal and informal carers of dementia suffers were presented.
The online platform https://www.forgetmenotdigital.com supports the professional development of carers through the e-learning material produced, but most important it provides the opportunity to use the digital technology functionalities to support dementia suffers. All partners had a first-hand experience of the successful implementation of the FMN project/platform through the visit at the Dom Pomocy Spolecznej care home. It was an eye-opening experience for all to see the excellent work being done in order to enrich the lives of those people.
We would like to encourage formal and informal carers to register and try out the platform being designed and developed to upgrade the services provided to dementia suffers. The platform is provided in 4 languages (EN, GR, Po and FR) and it has a user-friendly environment.
We would like to thank the Coordinator of the Forget-me-not project Edeucation ltd (UK), our hosting organisation English Unlimited – Szkoła Języków Obcych (PL) for their hospitality as well as the rest of the partners WBS TRAINING SCHULEN gGmbH (DE) and UDAF de la Charente (FR) for their excellent collaboration.
