The World Economic Forum noted in 2019 that, ‘complex problem-solving, critical thinking, creativity, people management and emotional intelligence are among the most important skills required in the workplace’. Furthermore, the EU Skills and Jobs (ESJ) survey reported that young adults preparing to enter the workforce are significantly lacking in transversal skills or soft skills – such as teamwork, decision making, and communication – that will help them become effective employees.
The new Erasmus+ KA2 project titled ‘SEE-FIRST’ (Seeking first job equipped with proper soft skills) addresses all the above while aiming to improve the soft skills of young adults and mainly first-time job seekers in order to foster employability prospects. This will be done through the development of an ICT tool for the provision of personalised training on selected soft skills.
