👨💻 🎮 Does your child play video games on the Internet excessively? Compulsively shopping online? Or can’t physically stop checking Facebook? Most parents feel powerless to protect their children from the excessive exposure on the internet and to identify when this behavior can be problematic. Even parents themselves, are sometimes facing the same problems.
The KA2 Erasmus+ Project STEPin aims to support parents and adult educators in dealing with internet/ screen abusive behaviours (IAB) in an attempt to monitor their habits while introducing healthier practices for them, but also for their children. To achieve these goals, the project aims to:
👉Develop an interactive mapping tool with existing prevention, intervention and post-vention programmes related to IAB
👉Provide an innovative educational programme for parents and educators to develop their skills and competences
👉Develop a mobile app to be used as an assessment tool for evaluating the level of IAB and provide intervention measures.
💯 The first meeting of the STEPin project took place virtually on the 11th of December 2020, where partners discussed the overall objectives of the project, and agreed on the next steps of the project.
👉 A big thank you to the coordinator of the project Leibniz Universität Hannover (Germany) for the organization of the meeting, and to the rest of the partners Step-by-Step (Croatia), the Nottingham Trent University (UK), RIC Novo Mesto (Slovenia), KMOP (Republic of North Macedonia), Asserted Knowledge (AKNOW) (Greece) for their active participation and collaboration.
