🔊It is EUD’s (European Union of the Deaf) vision that Deaf people all over Europe have equality in both public and private aspects of life (EUD, 2022).
👉🙏Emphasys Centre is honored to participate in the innovative and progressive Erasmus+ KA2; ‘ARTS&SIGNS’ Project which aims to promote the social inclusion of Deaf people in cultural life is by training museum workers the basic language skills of the Deaf community mother tongue, Sign Language, in order to be able to welcome and accompany Deaf visitors in their facilities. Essentially, the project’s objectives are to develop a curriculum that will transfer knowledge about the Deaf culture and create video-dictionaries that will include a variety of signs related to the cultural and artistic context. The forthcoming sign language lexicon will be incorporated in each national Sign Language (SL), but also in International Signs.
💻During the online meeting the consortium discussed the main objectives of the project and each Project Result as well as matters related to Quality Assurance, Evaluation and Dissemination.
