📅 From November 4th to 19th, 2024, the Europass Teachers Academy, in collaboration with Emphasys Centre, organized the KA1 Course: Environmental Education: Learning and Acting for a Better Future.
🌍 During this training, participants explored key environmental topics that society faces today. The course aimed to provide adults with a deeper understanding of critical issues within the environmental and green sectors. Topics covered included ecosystems and biodiversity, sustainability and the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals, greenhouse gases, the climate system, climate change solutions, greenwashing, and ways to reduce consumption.
📚 The training blended theory with hands-on activities, allowing participants to learn and apply sustainable practices. They visited the zero-waste Riverland Biofarm, where they created personal care products like soap bars and learned about composting. They also toured the Natural History Museum of Cyprus to explore the island’s ecosystems and biodiversity. Additionally, they visited the Carlsberg premises, where representatives shared the company’s practices and initiatives to enhance sustainability. Carlsberg was recognized with the 2023 Gold Benefactor of the Environment award for environmental excellence.
