Podcast and Streaming as Educational Tools: Amplifying Voices in the Classroom
From the 26th to 31st of May 2025, Emphasys Centre in partnership with Europass Teacher Academy hosted the KA1 course: “Podcast and Streaming as Educational Tools” in Nicosia, Cyprus.
This dynamic course was designed to help educators explore the power of podcasts, streaming, and new media as tools to support active learning, digital storytelling, and student expression. Participants discovered how to plan, script, record, edit, and publish their own educational podcasts and streaming content using free and accessible tools.
Highlights included hands-on practice in audio recording and editing, exploring platforms for publishing student podcasts, using streaming for collaborative learning, and designing project-based activities that integrate new media into any subject. Educators also reflected on how to foster creativity, digital literacy, and inclusive participation through multimedia formats.
The course blended theoretical insights with interactive workshops, encouraging teachers to experiment, collaborate, and create content they can directly apply in their classrooms. By the end of the week, participants were equipped to use audio and video media to amplify student voices, foster engagement, and support 21st-century skills development.
