Ayia Napa

Trip Duration: 60’ (Intercity Buses or Mini Bus – to be booked in advance). Things to do/visit: Sandy Beach – Nissi Beach, Makronisos, Konnos Beach, Old Ag. Napa Church, Bars-Restaurants, Amusement Park, Museums, Harbour.

Protaras

Trip Duration: 70’ (Intercity Buses or Mini Bus – to be booked in advance). Things to do/visit: Profitis Elias Church (120 steps), Sandy Beach – Fig Tree Bay, Seafront Promenade, Cavo Greco Caves and hillstop

Limassol

Trip Duration: 60’ (Intercity Buses direct from Central Bus Station). Things to do/visit: New Limassol Marina, Beach, Seafront Beach Bars – Restaurants, Limassol Medieval Castle and City Quarter with bars-restaurants, Kourion Theatre, traditional villages with historic and new wineries.

Omodos Village – Limassol District

Trip Duration: 90’ (Mini Bus – to be booked in advance). Things to do/visit: Traditional village on the mountain, historic and new wineries – wine tasting at Ktima Gerolemo (http://ktimagerolemo.com/), Historic “Holy Cross Monastery”, Traditional coffee shops – taverns with music.

Paphos

Trip Duration: 90’ (Intercity Buses). Things to do/visit: “Petra tou Romiou” Aphrodite Rock, Harbor, Sea Front Bars – Restaurants, Medieval Castle, Archaeological Monuments (Tombs of the Kings, Mosaics, Archaeological Park, Museums), Adonis Baths.

Larnaca – Phinikoudes

Trip Duration: 40’ (Intercity Buses direct from Central Bus Station). Things to do/visit: Finikoudes and Makenzie Beach, Seafront Beach Bars-Restaurants, Medieval Historic Castle, Agios Lazaros Historic Church, Turkish Mosque Temples, Salt Lake – Flamingoes.

Lefkara Village – Larnaca District

Trip Duration: 40’ (Mini Bus to be booked in advance). Things to do/visit: Traditional village, “Lefkaritica Lace” (traditional embroidery), Traditional Streets and Architecture, Cypriot Delight Workshop, Panoramic View.

Nicosia – Sighseeing and Landmarks

Trip Duration: You need 15′-20′ by car for the farthest place in the city. Things to do/visit: Museums and Art Galleries, Shopping, Restaurants and Bars at Ledras Street, Old city and crossing point, Onasagorou Street, Makarios Avenue, Stasikratous Street.

Airport and Transfers

The legal points of entry to the Republic of Cyprus are Larnaka International Airport (LCA) and Pafos International Airport (PFO).

 

Shuttle Bus Services
The Shuttle Buses run to and from Larnaca International Airport & Nicosia and the cost is €8 each way. The timetables from Larnaka Airport to Nicosia can be found on the following link http://www.kapnosairportshuttle.com/timetables/1?locale=en.
It is recommended to reserve your seat in advance. Booking online is possible by using the following link: http://www.kapnosairportshuttle.com/book?locale=en .

Please note that travellers have to be at the Shuttle Bus Station at least 15 minutes before the departure of the bus. The distance between Larnaca Airport and Nicosia, is approximately 45 minutes and should be taken into account when planning transportation.

 

Arriving at the Airport:
The Shuttle Bus will transfer passengers to the Central Shuttle Bus Station in Nicosia. Participants will have to take a taxi from there, to transfer them to their Hotel. The taxi drive will approximately cost €10-€15 depending on the time of the day.

 

Departing from the Hotel: 
A taxi can transfer participants at the Central Shuttle Bus Station and from there they can take the Shuttle Bus to the Airport. Passengers will have to be at the airport at least 1.5 hours before their flight. As mentioned above, the distance between Nicosia and Larnaca Airport, is approximately 45 minutes and should be taken into account when planning transportation.

Travelling from nicosia to other cities

Travelling by Bus
Travelling to the other main cities of Cyprus like Larnaca, Limassol, Ayia Napa, Protaras, Pafos – can be done by “Intercity Buses”. General Information About Cyprus

Local Time: Cyprus Time is GMT +2.
Currency:  The currency of Cyprus is the Euro.
Currency Exchange: All banks operating in Cyprus offer foreign currency exchange services and quote the exchange rates of the Euro against all major foreign currencies daily. Foreign currency can also be exchanged at hotels.
ATMs and Credit Cards: All major banks in Cyprus have automatic teller machines (ATMs) in most towns and in the majority of the large villages. All major credit cards are accepted almost everywhere.
Electricity supply: The electricity supply in Cyprus is 230 volts, a.c. 50 Hz. Sockets are usually 13 amp, with 3-pin plugs, with square pins. Many hotels provide adaptors upon request from the reception.
Smoking: Smoking is prohibited in all indoor public places and night clubs.
Opening hours
Shop opening times vary depending on their type and location, though shops normally open between 07:00 and 09:00 and close at around 18:30 and 20:00.
All Banks are open on workdays (Monday to Friday) usually between 08.00 and 14.30. From October to April there are a number of Banks which are also open on Monday afternoon between 15.15 and 16.45 (i.e. Hellenic, COOPs). Banks are closed on weekends and public holidays.
Restaurants and cafes have varying opening hours, but lunch is most often served between 12:00 and 15:00. Dinner is served from 19:00 until late in the evening.
Driving Side: Driving is on the left-hand side of the road. All the international road traffic signs are in use and placed on the left-hand side of roads and highways. On roundabouts, priority is given to the right side.
