Short Description
With the rise of new technologies, the relationship between parents and children and the way they communicate has changed in many ways. The SKILLS4PARENTS project aims to improve personal growth, communication and parenting skills of parents as well as professional skills of adult educators.
The project’s main objectives are to support low skilled parents in acquiring key competences (i.e. digital skills, problem-solving skills, financial skills etc.) and to enhance adult educators’ professional skills and extend their competences for them to better mentor and support parents. The consortium will set to achieve its aims and objectives through the production of three intellectual outputs. Firstly, the partners will develop a Methodological Framework for the SKILLS4PARENTS course, after conducting desk research, interviews, focus groups, questionnaires etc. Following this step, innovative learning material for adult educators will be developed and adapted to the online digital platform. The platform will also provide a community where adult educators and parents can interact.
The project targets adult educators as they are good communicators and can easily transfer knowledge to parents. Low skilled parents are also targeted in order to address their difficulties and challenges in raising their children.
Additionally, the expected impact of the project is to raise awareness on the importance of using online digital tools in adult education and to ultimately enhance the relationship between adult educators, parents and children.
