Experts agree that the speed at which digital technologies are spreading nowadays is impressive, and technological advances will produce remarkable and unprecedented changes in the medium term (Elliott, 2019). Recently, the lockdown, introduced worldwide in an effort to restrict the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic, forced extensive recourse to virtual communications, smart working, and online teaching-learning. However, the use of these means requires adequate competence and skills as well as planning, experimentation, and user training. Hence, partners decided to develop a partnership to create the e-mentoring qualification that encompasses the competence and skills of a business or social mentor in leveraging digital technology for their professional activities. E-mentoring has the potential to provide to a broader audience the already well-established benefits that come from formal and informal mentoring.
This project will develop a work based educational program that provides learners with e-mentoring competence and skills The e-MentEdu project will train learners to be an e-mentor mastering digital technology for:
• Learning processes;
• Bridging education and enterprises;
• Labor market & guidance career advice;
• Soft skills.
