GreenSIGNS

Promoting high quality, digital transformation (VR gamification) and green transition in inclusive YW practices for youth with hearing impairment (or deafness) for better employability prospects.

Short Description

The GreenSIGNS project aims to encourage the adoption of an innovative youth training program in green employability fields specifically designed for Deaf or Hard of Hearing youth (DHH). As people from around the world navigate to more environmentally friendly and sustainable solutions in different sectors of our lives the demand for employability in this field increases. However, integrating deaf people into the job market poses a significant challenge. Over 50% of the one million deaf individuals in Europe are unemployed, and those who do find employment are frequently relegated to low-skilled and low-paying positions. The current project will develop a validated capacity training program that will include the development of EU green sign language and education through digital transformation (VR gamification) to promote and enhance the employment potential of DHH youth. Therefore, the project not only aims to bridge the gap between individuals with DHH and improve their quality of life but also to address the significant employment challenges faced by this community.
